my birthday was yesterday and it was a good one. i got some really awesome gifts and i spent it with amazing friends.
i'm very glad that i have the people in my life that i do.
thanks to patti for leaving me my favorite flowers that smell so very good!
thanks to my buddy jared! he's one of mick's coolest friends! i'm very happy he came to celebrate my birthday with me!
thanks to my beautiful best friend bree. she is so selfless and such a great friend. she set aside all those other things she needed to do and were important to her to spend a couple of hours with me!
thanks to mick's parents for thinking about me and sending me a way awesome gift!
thanks to my awesome family who called me and sang to me on the phone. it always makes me feel so loved when they call me! (or text me! LOL. that would be from my dad)
and a very very BIG thanks to my sweet fiance! he spoiled me yesterday! i am so lucky to be loved by him!

p.s. the only not good thing about yesterday was that i took like two pictures. and they were of me getting ready. lame. AND SO UNLIKE ME

100 DAYS

we're at 100 days now! AHHHHH!!! this is exciting! this means that tomorrow we'll finally be in the double digits! whew! time needs to go slightly faster though. (i'm probably going to regret saying that. yikes.) i'm really excited! things are coming together well. mick and i still want to get married. haha. jk. OF COURSE we still want to get married! his dad keeps joking how they still have the wool pulled over my eyes and hopefully i don't find out the truth about mick. lol.

so i tested out my tutu skills on my new little sisters. apparently esther hasn't taken hers off since she got it two days ago. haha! that make my {heart} very happy!

i just made a tutu for Mick's niece and an extra one for a friend! I love making tutus.

Hitch

i was watching hitch the other day on t.v.

more towards the end of the movie after hitch got food poisoning and gets wasted off of benedryl, the morning after Sarah commented on how he was a morning person. he responded "Well, you know, like I always tell my clients, 'Begin each day as if it were on purpose.' ".

"Begin each day as if it were on purpose."

i know he wasn't the original person to say that but i thought it was pretty profound. it's a good motto to have. i think i would like to wake up every morning and start my day off as if it were on purpose. :) maybe working at 6a.m. won't be so horrible! hahaha

anyways. i thought those were awesome words to live by. i would like to add to them one of my all time favorite quotes by Sister Hinckley, "The trick is to ENJOY life, don't waste away your days wishing for better ones ahead."

Well, I've discovered something new and fun to do! I wanted to get something for my new little sisters. They love dressing up and being pretty. I went to this tutu place in the mall to get them something. They were soooo expensive! I'm not always so willing to buy something crazily priced especially when I know I could probably make one. So I went to JoAnn's and bought some tulle and elastic and about a movie later I had two just as cute tutus! They're so much fun! I then had an idea. Maybe I could sell these things for a whole lot cheaper than what they were in the Mall. So I'm going to try it out. If you have a daughter, niece, granddaughter, friend, anyone who would like a handmade tutu for a good price please let them know about me! I can do any color or size! These tutu's are so good for photo shoots of your children.

imagination+celine dion music=embarrassments.

sometimes i like to pretend i'm celine dion and do an awesome arm out to the side and then clench my fist then bring it up to my body in one swift movement when the song has come to a stop.

...until mick asks me what i'm doing with a concerned voice and weired out look on his face. all he does is laugh at me.

but seriously, who wouldn't want to be celine dion?!

i just don't think boys really understand.


P.S. there was this one time in 4th grade that i sang My Heart Will Go On" for the school talent show. That's how much I loved her (and Titanic). I DO NOT have a good singing voice. Again...embarrassment!

yesterday i was set apart to be the ward web specialist. (hahaha) in the setting apart blessing i was blessed to have all the privileges, keys, and other blessings that were needed to do well in that calling. i was blessed to be able to help a lot of people in the young single adult ward. then i was blessed that as mick's an my wedding gets closer we will have many confirmations that we are meant to be together.

awesome huh!

i've prayed about marrying mick. i've contemplated it. i've pondered it. i've felt so good about it. but its always so nice when the Lord just flat out tells you YES! sometimes i wonder why He blesses me as much as He does. i am a very lucky girl. :D

that was the best valentines day ever!

mick and i celebrated valentines over the whole weekend.

Friday i decorated his car. I bought him balloons and truffles. i gave him a handmade card with some love written inside.

Saturday after a day of snowmobiling. he took me out to dinner. it was a frustrating night because of the service at the restaurant but it was so nice to spend the evening with him.

Sunday morning i woke up to a card that was slid under my door. it was from mick. he wrote love things on the inside. then i was given a blessing that mick and i were truly meant to be together. what a wonderful valentine's day weekend. i really love being in love!

~jada love photography travels for free. again...i almost cried. portland, oregon temple is my home temple. i have wanted to get married there for soooooooooo long! portland doesn't have a photographer that i loved looking at their pictures. i was always looking at Ashley's. then i got engaged! woohooohoo! then i found out all these awesome things and i was in love.

"You know, that one guy..."

so i was told this story a week ago and i laugh every time i think about it so i have to share it with everyone!
this last new years i got to meet all of mick's brothers, their wives, and children. i only got to spend a few days with them because i worked a butt load of hours and they were all in from out of town so they only had a few days anyways.
this last week mick's sister-in-law erica me this story!
"The other day Mia was talking about juggling. She said, "And do you know who else can juggle?" I tried guessing but couldn't get it. Then she said, "You know, that guy, the one that got married to Jessica."
HAHAHAHAHA! I love it! Poor Mick. He's decided he needs to spend more time getting to know his nieces. lol.
anyways...this has been making me smile all week and miss these nieces and nephews of mick's! for a really long time i have been kinda bummed out that i was the oldest because i really wanted to be cool like all my friends and have nieces and nephews to spoil. well, the awesome thing about marrying the youngest of a family is that i will automatically get a ton of nieces and newphews!!!!!! YAY! i really like the title "Aunt Jessica". it's pretty awesome! i remember this one time when mick and i first started dating, one of his brother's slipped and said as he was passing his baby to me "here! go see aunt jess" haha. i thought it was pretty awesome.

i used to tell mick that it was because of his nieces and nephew that i decided to be "more than just friends" with him. lol. it's kinda true. ;)

i decided to do a "love birds" theme. with a very vintage look. our colors are robin's egg blue and ivory with small accents of deep red. i want use aqua mason jars for center pieces with red roses, or photos inside. i want to have old antique birdcages. i want to use lots of blue and ivory tulle. christmas lights. nests. birds. cotton branches. i saw a picture of a burlap table runner that looked so pretty and that i actually really liked! i have this image in my head and i hope i'll be able to relay it on to the decorator (my grandma Christi who is one of the classiest ladies you'll ever meet!)

Red Headed Princesses!

These cute girls are my new little sisters! I am so excited to meet them (hopefully soon!!!) My parents are the most amazing people I know! They are adopting these two beauties and I know that they'll be the luckiest girls and have a wonderful life because of my mom and dad! After the adoption is final we'll all get to go to the temple to be sealed to them! I cannot wait for that day!

this is what has been on my mind the past few weeks. summer. can it please be summer already?!

just another 12 hour shift

i have been up for many hours. many many many hours. i can't even begin to describe how wonderful a nap sounds. ugh...i still have5 hours left of work. life almost sucks right now. the one thing that is keeping my life totally awesome is that mick's and my ENGAGEMENT pictures are done!!! I can't stop looking at them! Our photographer did such an amazing job!!!

{She'll be posting them on her blog sometime today and will be giving me the web versions that i can post on my blog and facebook so keep a look out!}

it's so awesome looking at these pictures. its just another confirmation of how real all of this is! last year it started off as just an idea. a possibility. then it got a bit more serious when we stopped at a ring store. then even more serious when we found the ring we wanted. then at the end of the year he proposed. its the most amazing feeling in the world going from being boyfriend and girlfriend to being engaged to be married! mick and i are very blessed to have wonderful parents who raised us in the gospel and taught us that we can be married for time and all eternity and not just "death do you part".

this all hit me even harder to how real it is was when we set the date and called the Portland, Or temple. we set the marriage date and my endowment day! then we started discussing wedding details with each other and family. there's a lot that goes on in a wedding! yikes! nah...it's so much fun! can i just plan everyone's wedding? i have so many ideas! haha!

anyways...mick and i now have our engagement pictures! they are ready! and i'm going to order some! and i can't wait!

hehe, so mick and i went to institute last night. can i just say i really enjoy going to institute! its such a great place to be! especially with mick. i realized last night how much i truly love the scriptures! i've been making more of an effort to really study them. some days i'm really good. (usually at the beginning of the week. :p)

my birthday is this month. i'm going to be 22. weird! sometimes i can't believe the age i am! what happened to all those hormonal teenage years?! they're gone! and now my siblings are all leaving that stage in life as well. this tends to make one feel kinda old. i know i know. "wait till you're 30" some say. or 40. or 50. or 60!!! haha. i'll say the same thing when i turn all those ages too. i think it's okay to ask where time has gone. it really does go by so fast! mick and are going on our 7 monthiversary! it feels like we've only been dating a couple months!

well, now that i've rambled on i'll end. i'll end with a simple statement...

i am so very happy!

after many many years i am officially an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe! i can't even tell you what a blessing this is! this means that i can finally go back to school without having to pay enormous amounts of money! YAY!!!
