tomorrow. tomorrow. i'll love ya tomorrow! it's only a day aaaawwaaayy!
ugh...it's still a day away! lol. i'm so impatient.
AW!!! i just saw the cutest thing! i'm babysitting mick's nieces (i guess they're mine too, almost!), mick is taking a nap and hannah just got down from her chair and came over and gave him a kiss on the forehead! CUTE! i love these girls! abby has decided i'm hers for the week. lol. she gets pretty upset every time she sees me hug or kiss mick. haha. last night i gave mick a hug and abby was watching and starting to get a little upset and i totally caught mick rubbing it in. hahaha. the 2 year old vs. the 22 year old. oh wait she's not even 2. she barely turned one!

$$$cha-ching!$$$
i have the hiccups. :o/
i realized i still have a ton of stuff to do for the wedding which is only about 10 weeks away.
- invitations & postage
- flowers
- decorations
- get a videoographer
- hire a dj
- finish paying my photographer
- find shoes, jewelry, and other accessories i may need
- get the bridesmaids jewelry
- buy mick's ring
- figure out the whole wedding day hair thing
- book a hotel room
- book a couple of flights (for me and my brother Alan)
- get my dress fitted and hopefully NOT altered...because all of this is starting to add up and cost me a lot of dough. lame!
haha, oh well. you can't put a price on memories and looking good right? ;)
i had my first photoshoot with my camera yesterday. it went really well. it was sooooo much fun. i can't wait to get started on those pictures and getting them posted!

crafty
i have been crafting a lot yesterday and today. i just have been inspired by things left and right. my first crafting project was inspired a boutique visit last week on my walk up and down provo center street. there were these adorable little paperback journals. four in a boxed set. it was 15 bucks. 15 bucks too much for my wallet (which i had left in the car anyways). so i decided to try and make my own. i made up my own way of book binding. works really well. then just started creating.

the other craft item i've done today is a "love coupon book". it's for mick. :) it just has some cute fun things in it. like a back scratch. his very favorite thing in the whole world. a homemade meal cooked entirely by me. a movie of his choice paid by me. etc. this was also inspired by something i found in that boutique.

here's today's inspiration! here. i {heart} their style.
i have a couple a photo sessions lined up with some friends. i won't be getting paid for them but its a start and it will be good practice!
i can't wait.
i can't wait.

what a weekend!
it was a good weekend full of new things!
i got to go to park city for the first time. i went to all the outlet shops with mick's mom, debbie. i bought 3 new shirts at banana republic and a pair of new shoes. i didn't buy the things i was hoping to buy. lol.
i ate at red ruby's for the first time. it was yummy!
mick and i tried to have a pirate's of the caribean marathon but we were interupted by the neighbors tree catching on fire from the power lines. then the power went out.
so we played scrabble by candle light and when i decided i was done playing with my cheating fiance who had lost two turns and still came out over a hundred points more than me, i had him read the adventures of alice in wonderland out loud.
then because the power was out so was the heat i fell asleep by the fireplace until i was roasted.
ugh...then i lost an hour.
anyways...it was a good weekend.
oh! and i played mexican railway or mexican trains or something like that. a domino game. i won almost every time. i like dominos. :D
i'll post some picture tomorrow.
3/12/10
12 weeks, 6 hours, about 38 minutes until
mick and i will officially be husband and wife for time and all eternity! i cannot wait!
i got to go to my best friend hannah's dress fitting yesterday. it was so awesome! hannah and i have know each other since we were little girls! we've been best friends forever! we used to play barbies under my parents piano and pretend we were getting married at the same time and going to each others weddings. as we grew older and grew out of barbie playing we would still make plans to marry brothers so we could be sisters and then we would get married at the same time. but we got even older and realized how that was kind of a silly and unrealistic dream/plan. now we're both in our 22nd year of life and planning our weddings together. guess what. we're getting married 6 days apart from each other! isn't that awesome?!!!
my mom and dad got me my temple dress for my birthday. it was the one i found that i loved. i was just going to make to save some money but they decided they really wanted to buy it for me. i am so lucky to have such wonderful and loving parents! i can't wait to see my temple dress! it is so so so pretty!
sometimes, i get a little weirded out. not weirded out but shocked almost that this is where i'm at. i'm getting married. i remember all those silly tears i cried over guys. i had huge heartbreaks and some of which led to a lot of distrust in guys. poor mick. by the time he came a long i had just made up my mind to ditch the whole guy thing for a while and enjoy my freedom from being single. he was very persistent though. i'm very glad he was.

Why Study Isiah's Writings?
Mick and I have been going to institute for the past two months or so. We have been LOVING it! I leave that class every Tuesday so excited to read and study my scriptures! Our teacher is amazing! He's a professor at BYU. Donald W. Parry. He is extremely knowledgeable in the gospel and the history of the gospel (and in Hebrew). He's written several book and is working on one about the Atonement which I can't wait to read!
We're studying the Book of Mormon this semester/Institute class. Right now we're in 2nd Nephi. 2 Nephi is very well known for being a long quotation of Isaiah's writing. People often find it difficult to understand and to read. I loved this last class because he made us realize that it really isn't as daunting to read as we tend to think. I am excited to read 2nd Nephi after this last class we had!
Here is the handout he gave us. I hope you enjoy it and it helps with your 2nd Nephi and Isaiah study.
"Why Study Isiah's Writings?"
We are commanded to search Isiah's words.
The words of Isaiah "are written...therefore search them" (3rd Nephi 20:11)
"Yea, a commandment I [Jesus Christ] give unto you that ye search these things diligently; for great are the words of Isaiah" (3rd Nephi 23:1, cf. Moroni 8:23)
Isaiah spoke concerning the scattering and gathering of the house of Israel.
"And I [Nephi] did rehearse unto them the words of Isaiah, who spake concerning the restoration of the Jews, or the house of Israel; and after they were restored they should no more be confounded, neither should they be scattered again" (1Nephi 15:20)
Isaiah wrote things pertaining to the future.
"Behold, I [Nephi] would speak unto you concerning things which are, and which are to come; wherefore, I will read you the words of Isaiah" (2 Nephi 6:4 cf. 2 Nephi 25:8)
Isaiah's writing cause us to rejoice.
"and now I write some of the words of Isaiah, that whoso of my people shall see these words may lift up their hearts and rejoice for all men" (2 Nephi 11:8)
Isaiah's writings help us to glorify God's name.
"I [Jacob] will read you the words of Isaiah. And they are the words which my brother has desired that I should speak unto you. And I speak unto you for your sakes, that ye may learn and glorify the name of your God" (2Nephi 6:4)
Isaiah's writings are great.
"For great are the words of Isaiah" (3 Nephi 23:1 cf. 2 Nephi 25:8)
Isaiah's writings may be likened unto members of the house of Israel.
"there are many things which have been spoken by Isaiah which may be likened unto you, because ye are of the house of Israel" (2Nephi 6:5)
Isaiah saw the Lord.
"And now I, Nephi, write more of the words of Isaiah, for my soul delighteth in his words...for he verily saw my Redeemer, even as I have seen him"(2 Nephi 11:2)
Isaiah's words are for our profit and learning.
"I Nephi did read unto them that which was written by the prophet Isaiah; for I did liken all scriptures unto us, that it might be for our profit and learning" (1Nephi 19:23)
Isaiah spoke concerning the house of Israel and the Gentiles.
"For surely [Isaiah] spake as touching all things concerning my people which are of the house of Israel; therefore it must needs be that he must speak also to the Gentiles" (3 Nephi 23:2)
Isaiah wrote things pertaining to God's judgments.
"I [Nephi] have made mention unto my children concerning the judgments of God, which hath come to pass among the Jews, unto my children, according to all that which Isaiah hath spoken" (2 Nephi 25:6)
Isaiah's prophecies are true and will be fulfilled.
"All things that he [Isaiah] spake have been and shall be, even according to the words which he spake" (3 Nephi 23:3)

eighty five days.
that's pretty crazy. time is starting to go by fast now. probably because i have all these things i need to decide on and finalize. yikes!
i've started my photography business. i don't think you can call it a "business" just yet. but i've got things rolling. i have two photo sessions lined up. i'm not getting paid for either but it will give me good practice and build my portfolio so that i can start charging for my sessions. i'm just doing families, engagements, maternity, and seniors. i will be adding babies and weddings to that as soon as i get another lens and a place to have my own little in-home studio. or until its warmer outside to i don't freeze the little babies. that would be sad.
mick and i have been about 90% sure we're moving to Salem, Oregon this summer. i will HAVE to have a job in order for us to survive. haha. i kinda like that. being married will be so much fun and quite the adventure! anyways, rent is going to be expensive. i have a possible nanny job lined up. it would be so nice if i could really dive into photography up there. i was looking for a photographer for the wedding and on average prices were 2000 bucks and most were at least 2200 and higher. even if i could charge half that i think we'd do okay! i will have to work hard! i'm starting to put together some flyers to print and then go door to door and hand them out to people. mick said that would be the best place to start. i think he's right. how else do you get your name out there?
hehehehe! i wish i could describe how excited i am! now if everyone could spread the word that there's a new photographer in town that would be way awesome!!

perturbed
this one time a guy forged my signature on my check and deposited all the money into his account.
a.) he opened my mail.
b.) he forged my signature.
c.) he stole my money.
d.) he's in trouble.
travis black, who ever you are. you are in big trouble mister! just you wait!
ugh. now instead of stressing out over what wedding colors and flowers to chose i have to file a police report and call the bank and get my money back. i'm very annoyed. frustrated. and perturbed.

for my grandma audrey
i love vintage things. especially vintage dresses. especially vintage dresses from the 50's. this last summer i was able to make a road trip out to good ol' south dakota with my brother tim to visit family we hadn't seen 10 years! while there my grandma audrey gave me something very special. i don't think she knows how much it means to me to have her wedding dress! it fits me like a glove too! i think it was meant to be. lol. i decided to do a photo shoot with mick's and my awesome photographer in my grandma audrey's dress. here is one of the photos. i can't wait to see more!

wedding plans/IDEAS thus far.

i've decided i want a big bouquet of cream or dark red peonies.
for the bridesmaids a small cream bouquet of peonies and tulips.
for the groom, groomsmen, and fathers i want either a peony or tulip boutonniere.

for the bridesmaids/moh i want sweet, soft, vintage, light blues/grays/ivory dresses. tulle, chiffon, and really soft cottons. nothing shiny, fancy, or long. simple. belts, flowers, ribbons.

for the guys. i don't know. probably black tux with blue vest and tie, ivory vest and tie, or a gray/black vest and tie. i really like the gray tux with blue vest and tie. but i think the black will be better. mick really wanted a white tux with red shoes. bahahaha. i think he was being serious too...

moving to ARIZONA!!
surprise!!
ugh...i WISH!
remember how i said it looked like rain. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAA! yeah right! frozen rain! it snow like a million inches last night. and it is STILL snowing! i did about 3 involuntary cookies. or doughnuts (whatever your preference is). i got stuck at the bottom of a hill and had to be pushed all the way up it. this is all very lame.
i really want to move somewhere with zero snow.

i was wondering how everyone would feel about me changing up the wedding colors...again. i am having an extremely difficult time finding "robin's egg blue". i was thinking of doing a light blue/gray. there are several different shades of light blue but i think it would be fun to use them all.
ivory
blue/gray
...? maybe red and/or mustard yellow.
okay. now everyone can really make fun of me and tease me. :p
P.S. just doing splashes of red. (updated 03/08/2010)

robin's egg blue. HA! yeah right!
well i've decided that the wedding colors and trying to match things to them is WAY hard! maybe i'll just do {rainbow}. haha. just kidding! but seriously. it is way hard to match robin's egg blue. there are almost a million and fifty six different color blue fabric. and none of them are robin's egg blue. the only color blue i need. there a about a hundred and thirteen color blue shoes. and non of them are robin's egg blue. i did however find robin's egg blue eggs.
well, i'm picking up my camera today. i'm so excited! i wish it were noon thirty right now. i just want to hold it. and take pictures. and have lots of fun!
i need robin's egg blue bridesmaids dresses. OR...
ivory bridesmaids dresses with robin's egg blue shoes.
i guess i could do red shoes. but i don't want red. especially if they are wearing ivory. i don't want a christmasy feel at all. it'll be spring! i want a springy feel! i guess we'll see what happens.
