i'm not sure why i chose this one...it definitely is not my best photo. but there is something about it that i like.

(i'm not even joking when i say this but i think its the baby! hehehe)

the story behind the photo is...

i was trying to do a photo shoot with me in it so i propped the camera up on the window, i pushed the button and took a few photos to see if it was positioned where i wanted it to be, and this was one of the test photos.

i have read that you shouldn't rock your baby to sleep because he will expect to always be rocked to sleep, even when he gets older.

but seriously, how can i NOT rock my baby to sleep. it is so stinking cute when he tries so hard to keep his eyes open. and when he finally does start to drift off he gives me the biggest smile that brings me to tears.

it truly is the most precious, spiritual, special moment of my day!

the best thing in the entire world is having your baby fall asleep in your arms with a smile on his face.

yeah...he wont have anything to do with them. its a little frustrating because he wants to suckle but he wont take the pacifier and then he gets frustrated and yells at me. lol. i can't have him suctioned to me all day. we're not sure what to do...

i went shopping at baby gap and at the checkout i was pleasantly surprised with the cutest bag to hold my purchases! i had to incorporate it into a photo. so i got home, dressed kenny in his brand new outfit and had a mini photo shoot!

i love how the photos turned out!

i have been wanting more photos of kenny and mick, kenny and me, mick and me, mick, kenny and me! i'm kind of a photo snob though and i wont hire a photographer to do a family photo shoot unless they have the style AND prices i like. its hard to find both in one body. i do have expensive taste (which i consider a curse). so i did a last minute self portrait photo shoot. i put my camera on the timer and propped it up on my dresser and went to town. i think i got a few decent photos. i got some GREAT ones of mick and kenny. i cant put into words the amount of love i have for my boys...all three of them!

Mick

Well, 99% of my blog has been all about my sweet little bundle of joy lately. I decided to dedicate this post to the one who made that little bundle of joy possible! MICK!!!

He's a pretty cool guy. He has been working hard these past few weeks selling satellite to the people of South Dakota. He has been quite successful. We are being very blessed! He has already made in about 2 weeks time what he made ALL last summer! I am so happy and grateful for that but it also make last summer feel even more like a waste of time and disappointing (just the selling/working part of summer, btw). I am very grateful for his efforts in providing for our little family.

Mick has two more semesters of school left! We are both very excited for his graduation! Him because he'll finally be finished with school and me because...he'll finally be finished with school. Hahaha. We're both excited for his future career (he is still figuring out what it will be).

He is enjoying his baby boy a lot. He is so helpful and supportive when it comes to taking care of Kenny. During meal times we put Kenny in his bumbo and set him in the middle of the table as our "centerpiece". LOL. Kenny will stare at Mick and just smile and get really excited! Its so cute. I love seeing my boys together. Kenny looks a lot like his daddy.

Mick is so wonderful. He's such a great husband and daddy. I couldn't ask for a better eternal companion! I definitely got lucky when I met Mick and he decided to love me from day one and would not take no for an answer! Maybe I'll tell that story in future post. ;)

I'm going to make Mick do a photoshoot with me soon. Be excited! hahaha.

I'm obsessed with this room! This is almost exactly what I wan to do in my room! Well, its one of the ideas I love. I'm still trying to decide what I want exactly.

today was my first "official" Mother's Day! today wasn't any different than my other days as a Mother. i cooked, cleaned, changed all the dirty diapers, fed baby and husband, clothed baby, and did my other motherly/wife duties. at first i was kinda bummed about not getting any special treatment like breakfast in bed or something like the things my siblings and i use to do for my Mom. but i realized, that isn't what Mother's Day is about.

i get to wake up to a smiley baby boy. not just any baby boy but MY baby boy. my son. he is so generous with his smiles. he gets excited when he see's me. he is laughing for me now! he smiles really big when i change his stinky diapers and soiled clothes. he snuggles with me. he cries for me when he needs to be fed and i am blessed to be able to do so! and to add a cherry to the top...i have a loving husband by my side who cares and loves his son and wifey!

Pilates

Well, I've come to the conclusion that I need to start working out. I know it takes time to get rid of the post pregnancy body. I'm totally okay with that. BUT here's the thing. I'm not losing anything but GAINING! Yikes. Not okay. So I decided that it was time to start getting into a workout routine. I tried doing p90x. It was pretty hardcore but it took way too long. After watching many other workout videos I finally found one I liked, that actually made me work hard, and that wasn't over an hour.

ITS BEEN AWESOME!

Hard.

But awesome!

I just need to be patient for the results. I have a really good friend who is helping me out. She's my online workout buddy. She is so great!

Dreaming about my Dreams

So I have had school on my mind a lot lately. Its kind of a...a bitter-sweet{?} thought? I'm not sure. It is overwhelming! Yes..{OVERWHELMING}. I need to finish school. I want to finish school. The crappy thing is I have SOOOOO much school to finish. Yikes!

What should I do?

I would love to go get a Bachelors degree in some big impressive major like in Science (with the emphasis of Human Biology. Bet ya didn't even know I liked that kind of stuff huh?) I think I'm smart enough. BUT I think my real dream is to get a better understanding of how photography works. A better understanding of lighting, editing, positioning, etc. A trade school degree is still something to be proud of! I feel like I have this obligation to be the very first on my side of the family to get a college degree. hahaha. I have no idea why?

Well, I have the dream. I have a goal. How do I go about accomplishing this? With Mick in school full time and having a baby to care and provide for I can't quite figure out how it would be possible for me to finish up school. Any advice or suggestions?

I remember when Mick and I first started dating he really encouraged me to get a photography business going. He was so excited about my talent and wanted to help me get something started. It was so exciting! I am so grateful I married him! He helps me so much with my dreams! Especially this one.

Speaking of {DREAMS} I have this other dream. I'll tell you. Its to own a boutique! Crazy huh? I love making things! I've been kinda obsessed with it lately actually. I fall asleep almost every night to the thoughts of my own boutique. The things I would sell, how I would set up the store, the people I could market to, what my defining product would be...it's fun. I told Mick that I am going to do one of these days! I will start small. {etsy}. It will be fun and exciting and hard and maybe a bit stressful but it will be GREAT!

Well, I better go give some love to my baby! He's awake and I can see him smiling at me from across the room!

Today is Grandpa Hunt's birthday! He is...44 years young! (Right? 44 is the right age?) We're all wishing we could spend the day with the Hunt Family! A cute picture of Kenny in a good mood will have to do for now. We love you Gpa Hunt!

Today I decided to go out on a limb. I decided to post my photography {talent?} on Craigslist today.

Guess what else...
I've totally had several responses already! This has been a great boost to my confidence.

And Guess one other thing...
I totally started to freak out. Blech. I'm not sure why. I think it was the fact that I'm totally afraid of failure. Sad huh. Well, I spent some time on updating my photography blog {which I'm still in the process of doing} and I feel way better and even excited about the possibility of actually making some money this summer!
